Fendt 818 Vario

The tractor of type Fendt 8181 Vario is mostly located at TUM research facility Thalhausen. It's used for fieldworks around the area of Thalhausen. The third generation of the 800 series, the 818 Vario-TMS with continuously variable Vario transmission was launched in 2002. Initially still with a rated output of 180 HP at 5702 cm³ displacement. In 2006, the newly developed Deutz engine with common rail system was introduced to the 800 series. However, this engine only achieved 170 hp nominal output with 6057 cm³ displacement.

Engine:

Deutz, Type: TCD 2012 LO6 4V, water-cooled four-stroke six-cylinder in-line turbo engine with common rail injection technology, four-valve technology, hanging valves, 6-hole nozzle, exchangeable cylinder liners, viscous clutch, EMR engine control, pressure circulation lubrication, dry air filter, AGRex exhaust system, piston cooling, three-ring pistons, exhaust turbocharger and charge air cooling.

Max. Power = 181 HP ( 136 kW ) at 1900 rpm and 6057 cm³ displacement Bore = 101 mm, stroke = 126 mm Compression ratio = 18:1 Average piston speed = 8.82 m/s Max. medium pressure = 21,9 bar Torque increase = 35 Speed drop = 33 Starting torque = 99 Max. torque = 804 Nm at 1450 rpm. Working pressure = 11.0 daN/cm² injection pressure = 1400 bar boost pressure = 2,9 bar
